So, I have updated to the Native Instruments KONTAKT 6 Full Version, simply because there are a number of libraries I wish to purchase that are simply not available for the Free KONTAKT PLAYER. In other words, I had no choice. The two most important words for KONTAKT users... "BATCH RESAVE". Currently, I am running ALL of my sample libraries off of LaCie Rugged Thunderbolt SSD external drives and they are SOLID, SILENT and BLAZING FAST! One of the Thunderbolt SSD drives is solely dedicated to my orchestral libraries. I highly recommend for MAC users. Go Thunderbolt SSD!
As a bonus, I use Korg's nanoKontrol 2 to control the dynamics and vibrato of the string libraries and an expression pedal to control the expression. I also just purchased WAVE'S IR-L Convolution Reverb.
